„MA“ fotografiere Gabriella Meros ausschließlich mit dem iPhone. Seit Oktober 2010 sind auf diese Weise nicht nur Hunderte Fotos, ganz privat, im Stil eines Tagebuchs, entstanden, sondern auch Interviews und Filme über die Mutter und Zeitzeugin.
„Mir war es wichtig, meine „MA“ authentisch und im Alltagsleben einzufangen und eine klare Linie zwischen Fotomodell oder Prominenten und privater Persönlichkeit zu ziehen“, sagt Gabriella Meros. „Seit meiner Kindheit nenne ich meine Mutter „MA“- daher der Titel. Meine Mutter sagte zu der Idee der Ausstellung: „Ich bin doch nicht so wichtig!“ Trotz ihres Alters ist sie resolut, feminin und lebt ein so weit wie möglich selbstbestimmtes Leben. Sie ist eine lebensfrohe Person – offen und interessiert und mit einem Freundeskreis in allen Altersgruppen. Sie ist für viele Jüngere ein Vorbild, weil sie das Leben liebt und gerne unter Menschen ist. Und vor allem man kann mit ihr über alles reden!“
Die Ausstellung soll ein Portrait über einen Menschen sein, der entwurzelt wurde, jedoch seine Wurzeln stets spürt und lebt. Die 95-jährige Ruth Meros hat zwei Länder als Heimat: Deutschland und Israel. Sie hat die Lust am Leben nie verloren, nimmt trotz ihres hohen Alters interessiert am politischen und gesellschaftlichen Leben teil und äußert sich auch deutlich zu den Themen „Gegen – Antisemitismus, BDS, Stolpersteine“. Die Ausstellung zeigt wie ein Leben im Alter als Jüdin in Deutschland heute und jetzt, aussehen kann, und dies ist eine lebendige und farbenfrohe Collage darüber. Die Fotos sind in München, Zürich, Berlin, Wien, Tel-Aviv … entstanden. Eine Woche lang werden die rund 250 Fotos im DIN A 4 Format und in der Anmutung von Farbkopien zu sehen sein, ergänzt durch Zitate der Zeitzeugin.

My mother said about the idea of the exhibition: „I’m not that important!“ Despite her age, she is resolute, feminine and lives a self-determined life as much as possible. She is a fun-loving person – open and interested and with a circle of friends in all age groups. She is a role model for many younger people because she loves life and likes to be around people. And above all, you can talk to her about anything!“
The exhibition is intended to be a portrait of a person who has been uprooted, but who always feels and lives his roots. 95-year-old Ruth Meros is home to two countries: Germany and Israel. She has never lost her zest for life, participates with interest in political and social life despite her advanced age and also expresses herself clearly on the topics of „Against- anti-Semitism, BDS and stumbling stones“. The exhibition shows what life in old age as a Jew in Germany can look like today and now, and this is a vivid and colorful collage about it. The photos are in Munich, Zurich, Berlin, Vienna, Tel-Aviv… originated. For one week, the approximately 250 photos will be on display in DIN A4 format and in the appearance of color copies, supplemented by quotes from the contemporary witness.
